This is the process I used to upload data to the Opal server (5.1.4) using a data dictionary.
Uploaded the data files (in my case CSV) and a data dictionary file in "Files"
- Select the "Files" button (under "administrator") on the right hand-side of the menu area
- Select the "Upload" button, and follow instructions...
Ingested the data dictionary file
- Select "Projects" button (under "administrator") on right hand-side of menu area, on "home page"
- Press " + " button, enter "Name" and "Title", and press "Add" button at bottom of dialog.
- Press " ->" button next to "Tables (views)"
- Select " + " button then "Add/update some tables" item
- In dialog, press "... Select", then select the data dictionary file.
Ingested the data file
- Select "Projects" button (under "administrator") on right hand-side of menu area, on "home page"
- Select project within which data is to be uploaded
- Press " ->" button next to "Tables (views)"
- Select table to be uploaded, but ticking tick box
- Select the " [->] IMPORT " button, "Import from file"
- Select source data [type], Press "Continue"
- Select import source, data file, Press "Continue" (a few times)
- Press "IMPORT"
It was found that some "short cuts" to "Projects", "Tables", ... don't have all the operations needed available.
