These were agreed and the page was made public.
Some edits have been made, there is a meeting to discuss the website in a couple of weeks.
We now have a wiki using wiki.js - it's liked as there's a range of different possibilities for editing pages (e.g. markdown, html, etc)
Theme pages created but need to be sorted out and have content added
need a help box link on front page to documentation, wiki software users guide
Structure:
Andrei spoke to Simon and he is happy to be the Chair. Need to figure out who else will also be on the DAB. It would be good to have people to represent different stakeholder groups, different federated approaches, and using different infrastructures.
There is no budget available to compensate people for their time. However, the Advisory Board would meet 3x yearly max so time commitment would be very small. They are their for their knowledge – e.g. about how to link DS to stuff they know about and use them as advertisers of DS. Board would be equivalent to a non-executive board – just profile-raising work, checking we are doing ok and giving an overview of our work.
It would be good to encourage German users as few German groups currently contribute to the community, and there are many consortiums we don’t know – consortiums could have a link on the website if they use DS.
A statistician or someone working with machine learning would be good.
Mette Hartlev could be a good person for legal and ethical side but is busy and may not have time, could ask her post-doc instead. If Mette busy maybe Fruszina - she been working on legal review in DS
Need a lay representative.
Need good geographical spread of people.
Need about 8-10 people on advisory board to ensure there is a quorum of 5 people at each meeting.
Becca will finish her email in response to Simon and copy it to the group - Simon will take it from there to contact people.
Would be good to get 3 or 4 people in a core group before conference – people attending the conference could then put forward names of further members. It's likely that not much will happen before conference (due to summer holidays etc).
Keynote speaker – ideal if someone in community knows them to introduce them
Gijs would be good as an invited speaker - could git an update on federated approaches to learning
Application Applied Person – Johan ?? – ask to highlight issues/barriers they are facing
Bodil – can talk in general session – has attended conferences in past
Juan needs to give suggestions re competing omics platform – invite them to talk
Invite Julian to give a talk – get German people more integrated with how DS is being used
